Vitil Solutions announces the release of KnowledgeDesk ITSM Software

VITIL Solutions, a 40-year-old company based in Sarasota Florida, provides managed services for technology service desks, field services and computer management services to county and city governments in the state of Florida now enters a new era with a first release of KnowledgeDesk.

KnowledgeDesk is a next generation cloud-based service management application based upon the proven experiences of VITIL and leverages industry best practices such as ITIL® and Knowledge-Centered Service (KCSSM). The first release of KnowledgeDesk is a knowledge management application that leverages KCS methods to capture, structure, reuse, and improve knowledge articles and provides a self-service portal for unlimited customers to search, browse, and view approved articles.

The KnowledgeDesk beta runs through January 2018 whereby customers can register for a free domain. In January 2018, those with less than 50 articles can stay with the free version while others select the appropriate annual subscription plan. Each KnowledgeDesk domain includes a management console for authorized users to capture, structure, reuse, and improve knowledge articles; as well as a self-service portal for unlimited customers to search, browse, and view self-service knowledge. The owner or an administrator of a KnowledgeDesk domain can configure the self-service portal to be open to the public or closed to authorized customers.

Knowledge management increases the efficiency and effectiveness of assisted services while enabling self-service for customers - resulting in higher customer satisfaction, increased service quality, and lower costs. Through the reuse of knowledge, organizations can quickly identify trends and problems that when addressed provide continuous improvement to the services they offer. KnowledgeDesk introduced knowledge management first in recognition that knowledge is core to the success of support services. Later releases will introduce a knowledge integrated ticketing system to support incident management and request management followed by problem management and other valuable applications for support organizations.
